UFO Report from Durham, North Carolina

Walking out of the movie theater at Southpoint Mall in Durham after seeing the 5 O'clock showing of Smile 2, My brother Husband and I were walking to our car parked in the 3rd row behind the Cheescake factory. I was looking east at a low flying airplane when I noticed a faint gray transparent thing a few degrees under the plane. At first I thought it was a cloud, but then I realized there was a small orange glow in the left corner of this cloud moving North and the cloud was following it like a trail but not a streak, think cone spray on a water hose. I told my husband and brother to look at this weird thing in the sky. They both asked what the plane? I exclaimed NO. My husband asked "the helicopter?" (There was also a helicopter but it was more south by southeast) And stuck his hand out to point. I grabbed his hand and used it to point at what I was seeing. When he noticed it my brother also noticed it. I could not tell how far away it was (the plane and helicopter were alot closer). My husband ran and grabbed his camera to try and take a photo. We did manage to get one but lens flare due to a street light. We watched it as it continued north by northeast looking as if it was descending at maybe a 5° angle, it wasn't moving very fast but we watched it until it was behind the nearby treeline. The object never once blinked but it was flickering like a candle or a star. The trail it was leaving very large compared to the object. The conical trail this object was leaving behind was incredibly wide and came to a point at the object. The largest part of the trail was wide enough to stack 13 or so of the orange deltas. The trail does not appear in the image that were able to edit the lens flare out of and the object looked to be delta/chevron shaped with a rounded tip. Mind you we zoomed in to edit the flare out and its blurry but its there. The angle the delta object was facing while crossing the sky was weird considering the 5° descent. The tip of the delta was angled more at a 45°. It kept its steady pace and flew out of sight behind some trees. The mall was busy but it seemed like we were the only people who saw it in our immediate area. I'm sure someone else saw it as well. I don't live in the city so I don't know how often people look up but someone else had to have noticed it.
