UFO Report from Delaware, Ohio

Date: 10/05/2024. Time: Between 9:35-9:45 (EST). Location: Home Residence. City/State: Delaware, Ohio. My Position: -On my back Patio Facing North, slightly West looking downward watering a tree, in the back-left corner. -Was fully-dark out at this point, I use my telescope on the back patio often until I knock it over and broke it, but point being it’s a suburb but far enough outside the city of Delaware it’s excellent for viewing the night sky. Was clear sky all day and night. Perfect day. No clouds could see all the stars was a clear as a bell night sky. -I initially caught something in the sky looking over at my neighbors (east of me) back yard, an object that appeared to be moving down-ward in the sky, moving east to west. It appeared initially to be moving down and almost right at me. It actually kind of startled me and I froze and shut off the water at the hose. It looked like a fuzzy orangish kind of a faint ball. Expecting it to burn out, or fall below the horizon, (shooting star, meteor, space debris), it didn’t and kept moving across the night sky east to west and went almost right over me, I got a clear look at it for maybe 3-4 seconds. -As it moved more directly over me, the object took on more of a shape, a craft of some sort, that appeared to moving in a controlled direction, not just falling down out of the sky, and that’s when I got a real sense of it’s speed, a gliding fuzzy orangish triangle best as I describe it, but was definitely a triangle shaped object, moving at an extreme rate of speed, the whole encounter was 6-8 seconds from start to finish. It moved over a large area of sky in just seconds. -Object was fainter, harder to see, but still clearly visible as it moved over top and off to the west then eventually behind a tall tree and out of sight. I heard no sound, I notice a plane just over my neighbor house, as this was happing, also on my eastside, flying east to west, and remembered thinking that plane’s speed looked like it wasn’t moving at all compared to the object’s speed. The plane at a glanced seemed smaller than a jet plane and a lot higher in altitude then the object, which I could not put any number on. 1 thousand feet purely guessing. Like it was just low enough it was reflecting light from the ground so I could see it. The object itself didn’t appear it was emitting its own light. Sort of just this fuzzy orange glow, cloaked like object. I was pretty shaken by the whole thing afterword's; ran in the house to tell my wife, was the strangest thing I’d ever seen. She said I looked like I just saw a ghost. What’s funny is, that’s almost what it looked like, a ghost ship. Grew up on Farm, 30 mins from a Nuclear Power plant, and the great lakes, we go camping, we like to travel, sit out at the ocean at night, use my telescope, spent 100s of hours looking at the night sky, can spot most things, satellites, Hubble and the space station, have watched 100s of jet planes take off at Virginia beach and other places. Seen my far share of strange things in the night sky, but nothing ever like this that’s caused me to document shorty after it happen. there were no other witnesses unfortunately, and the whole event happen so fast didn't even think to grab my phone in pocket, I would of missed the whole thing had I.
